AURA project was born in 1996 from Giovanni Trotta, Angelo Cerquaglia and Giuseppe Bruno, three long time friends who want enjoy themselves with music. Their background finds its roots in '70 progressive rock and '80-'90 metal.
Their first demos "promo 97" and "1998 cold" bring a series of successes such as the winning of a rock competition in Sulmona in '97, and the attending of Agglutination Metal Festival in 1998, with a great response of critic in all magazines and webzines. In the same year the song "Life" is included in a compilation released by Nocturnal Music. The band goes on with many live shows and a new guitarist is added: Salvatore Cataldo will remain in the band until 2001, after the release of a third demo cd called "The wait". The sound is in continuous evolution towards more progressive style, expecially when keyboardist Francesco Di Verniere join the band. In the same time founder member Giuseppe Bruno leaves the band and is substituted by Diego Corini. This line-up released "New Life" in 2004, and this demo gets an enormous critical success.
In the same year the band attends ITIM Tour broadcasted through Rock Tv, and classifyes overall third on Metal Battle 2004 final. Finally their first full length album is released in 2008: "A different View From The Same Side" is produced by MyKingdomMusic. After this release Diego Corini leaves the band and the original guitarist Giuseppe Bruno is back. The songwriting process for a new CD can now start: "Deliverance" has been released in April 2011 under Spider Rock Promotion.
Il progetto AURA nasce nel 1996 ad opera di Giovanni Trotta, Angelo Cerquaglia e Giuseppe Bruno, tre amici che intendono divertirsi con la musica. Il loro background affonda nel rock prog anni '70 e nel metal degli anni '80 e '90. I primi demo “promo 97” e “1998 cold”, portano la band ad una serie di successi quali la vittoria alla rassegna rock giovane di Sulmona nel '97, e alla partecipazione all'Agglutination Metal Festival nel 1998, oltre ad un ottimo riscontro su tutte le riviste specializzate con interviste e top demo. Nello stesso 1998 il brano “Life” presente sul demo viene inserito in una compilation della Nocturnal Music. La band continua a suonare molto dal vivo e al gruppo si aggiunge un nuovo chitarrista, Salvatore Cataldo, che rimarrà nella band fino al 2001 dopo l'uscita del terzo demo cd “The wait”. Lo stile della band e' sempre in evoluzione e la sterzata verso lidi ancora piu' progessive si ha con l'ingresso in pianta stabile nella formazione del tastierista Francesco Di Verniere. Dello stesso periodo e' anche l'uscita dalla band per problemi personali del chitarrista originario Giuseppe Bruno e dell'ingresso di Diego Corini al suo posto. Con questa formazione esce nel 2004 Il demo “New Life”, con il quale la band otterrà un enorme successo di critica. Nello stesso anno la band partecipera' all'ITIM Tour che verra' poi trasmesso su Rock Tv e arrivera' al terzo posto nella finale del Metal Battle 2004 al Transilvania di Milano. Dopo un'intensa attivita' live esce il primo cd ufficiale “A different View From The Same Side” che nel 2008 viene prodotto dalla MyKingdomMusic. Dopo l'uscita del cd lo split con il chitarrista Diego Corini permette il ritorno in pianta stabile del chitarrista originario “Giuseppe Bruno” e così inizia a prendere piede il nuovo cd “Deliverance” la cui l'uscita e' prevista per aprile 2011.
