After more than three years of silence, Italian progsters AURA can finally announce the release date of their brand new studio album, entitled "Noise".
It represents a substantial turning of sound from the previous "Deliverance", while retaining many of the elements that have always distinguished the band's sound.
The turning point, if we want to talk about turning, was determined primarily by the artistic maturity of the band members, now being able to master their art and know how to move skillfully among its many facets. This creates an enveloping disc, catchy and complex at the same time: you will seem to hear different influences within each listen, 70s rock to post rock, united in an amalgam of incredible arrangements, moving AURA to Pomp Prog and Art Rock Olympus, thanks to immediate and powerful songs with a complex harmonic structure and melody indeed. Who is already thinking to act as Styx, REO Speedwagon, Saga and Kansas, is not too out of the way ......
The lyrics are intimist, with referrals to socio-existential themes like war, the need for a more cohesive society and the need for a spiritual evolution of the self.
The album was recorded by the band at the AURA studios, while mix and mastering were handled by Cristian Paduano.
"Noise" will be released by Spider Rock Promotion worldwide starting on February 6, 2015, for both the digital market and the physical, in an elegant digipack.
What follows is the final tracklist and the cover artwork, made by Annalisa di Verniere.
A new videoclip for Behind My Eyes has been published on Spider Rock official YouTube channel. The song is taken from Aura's last studio album, Noise, that will be released worldwide by Spider Rock Promotion starting on Feb 6, 2015 on digital platforms.
In 2012 Lunocode conceived a show, halfway between a theatrical monologue and a concert, with an actor reciting some spoken parts. This gave the band a chance to combine their love of acoustic guitars and a melancholy atmosphere with their interest in the universe and human nature, which always emerges in their lyrics. The show was called “C’è vita intelligente sulla Terra?” (“Is There Intelligent Life On Earth?”) and, for the occasion, the band recorded the entire show live at the “Teatro di Anghiari” theatre.
After this magic night, the guys entered the studio to record a new version of each song on the show, with a more elaborate arrangement. Some songs were completely stripped down and rebuilt. Lunocode pursue creativity above all else. The band then put these two recordings together in the form of a double album, in a gorgeous digipack edition, with the same title as the theatrical show. In 2014 Lunocode signed with 7Hard, and the time to release their new double album has arrived: their double album will be released worldwide on friday, 5th december 2014!
"Is There Intelligent Life On Earth?" Lunocode ask, and who is brave enough to answer?
