Poemisia are a symphonic/grotesque metal band, born in Naples in 2011 by Marco Monaco and Tina Gagliotta who complete the lineup in May 2011 with Ciro Scognamiglio, Giuseppe Carillo and Vincenzo Grande.
Their musical style is focused on a mix between heavy metal with opera and symphonic elements, thanks to Tina's voice too. Such a dualism leads to a tendency to mark the neverending contrast between darkness and light, death and life, hell and heaven, often in a grotesque manner and well reproduced by the polished lyrics.
Poemisia's live activity starts in January 2012 with many events. Among others:
Magna Grecia Metal Fest (Naples, 18/03/2012)
Woodstock in Naples, with Blaze Bayley ex Iron Maiden (Naples, 03/06/2012)
Promotional Minitour in The Netherlands, August 2012
Agglutination Metal Fest with Dark Tranquillity, Rhapsody of Fire, Rotting Christ and many others (Potenza, 25/08/2012)
In July 2012, the bands releases their first self produced EP, titled “l’Occulto Desìo”, with 4 tracks. Their first full-length album will be released on 31th October 2013 through Spider Rock Promotion and will be entitled “La Danza degli Spiriti”.
The new album will contain 10 songs. One of them will be embellished by the collaboration with Sakis Tolis, frontman of Hellenic black metal band “Rotting Christ”.
